CACFP Provider Training Requirements

All providers registered with the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) are required to attend 4 hours of training annually. All of these training hours are required and will be registered through the MT Early Childhood Project for credit towards your licensing requirements.

bullet

The first 2 hours are called Program Management Training. The Butte 4-C's CACFP staff will provide  four sessions of this training in the fall of each year. It is required that all enrolled providers attend one of the sessions offered.

Training includes the following topics:

·        Management Skills
·     Record Keeping

·        Training Requirements

·        Monitoring

·        Provider Responsibilities

·        Sponsor Responsibilities

The additional 2 hours are called Nutritional Training. These additional hours are for the purpose of providing additional training in the areas of sanitation, nutrition, and safety.

bullet

Only courses offered by the CACFP staff are eligible to count toward your additional 2 hours, unless prior arrangements have been made and approved by the Butte 4-C's CACFP staff. A new topic is offered annually and chosen based on provider requests or program needs.

bullet

In April of each year, the Butte 4-C's offers a variety of courses at their Annual Conference to help providers fulfill all of their needs for training.

Warning: The conference fills up fast and there may not be an available opening in the class of your choice. It is advisable to complete your training early.
