Child Care Aware is a non-profit initiative committed to helping parents find the best information on locating quality child care and child care resources in their community. We do this by raising visibility for local child care resource and referral agencies nationwide, and by connecting parents with the local agencies best equipped to serve their needs.
 

The MT Early Childhood Project

National Child Care Information Center (NCCIC)

The NCCIC is a service of the Child Care Bureau. It is a national clearinghouse and technical assistance center that links parents, providers, policy-makers, researchers, and the public to early care and education information. This page is also an excellent source for information on each state's ratios, teacher qualifications, demographics, and more.

The Child Care Bureau is dedicated to enhancing the quality, affordability, and availability of child care for all families. The Child Care Bureau administers federal funds to states, territories, and tribes to assist low-income families in accessing quality child care for children when the parents work or participate in education or training.

National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA)

NACCRRA is the national network of more than 850 child care resource and referral agencies (CCR&Rs) located in every state and most communities across the US. CCR&R agencies help families, child care providers, and communities find, provide, and plan for affordable, quality child care.

National Association for Family Child Care (NAFCC)

The focus of NAFCC is to provide technical assistance to family child care associations. This assistance is provided through developing leadership and professionalism, addressing issues of diversity, and by promoting quality and professionalism through NAFCC's Family Child Care Accreditation.

National Network for Child Care

NNCC unites the expertise of many of the nation's leading universities through the outreach system of Cooperative Extension. This section, or index, of the larger ALA site has great resources for both children and parents. For children and teens, there are pages that highlight good websites to visit, and recommended reading and software. For parents, there is information on adult reference and media materials, a link to Booklist magazine, and much more. Its mission is “to provide leadership for the development, promotion, and improvement of library and information services and the profession of librarianship in order to enhance learning and ensure access to information for all.”
