Butte 4-C's contracts with the Child and Family Services Division of Department of Public Health and Human Services (DPHHS) to provide in-home services, supervised visitation, and parenting classes to families referred by the Department of Family Services (DFS).
Our Family Development Specialists go into the family’s home and work with them on a variety of areas including parenting skills, budgeting and finances, basic life skills, prioritizing, early childhood development, etc. We are a resource for the parents and the family as they work together to overcome challenges in their lives.
Butte 4-C's provides supervised visitation services in our Family Education Center. Our facility includes an infant/toddler room, preschool age room, school age room, art and craft room, and a kitchen. We encourage parents to positively interact with their children at their developmental level. Our job is to ensure the safety of the children during visits with their parents, grandparents, etc. We also provide parenting information and additional resources as appropriate to each family.
Our Family Development Specialists offers weekly classes to parents referred
by DFS. The classes are informative and interactive based on the
participants’ needs. We follow a curriculum that includes: play,
discipline, ages and stages, communication, learning right from wrong,
building a solid self-image, answering tough questions, protecting your
children and yourself from abuse, building brains and bodies, and sibling
rivalry. These programs are not
available to the community without a referral from the Department of Family
Services. Please contact Brenda
Hergott for additional information. |
